As a Professional Trainer, do I need to learn Creative Trainer Techniques?

The answer, as with most things in life is “it depends”. My personal belief is, if you are an effective trainer, then to also be a creative trainer is useful, but not always critical. 

Let us spend a moment to step outside the world of the classroom and look at the prevailing learning model of 70, 20, 10. While you do not have to be creative to make the model work, you most definitely need to be innovative, as applying the standard post training action plan will not bring about the desired results. This is driving more creativity in the classroom, particularly truly participant centric learning.
 
What was “Hot” for a while eLearning has cooled, with the emphasize returning to the classroom for the formal part of the development process. Today’s trainer or more correctly learning facilitator must keep the audience engaged, this as time goes by will require more and more creativity.
My consul is, stay ahead of the trends and upgrade your trainer competencies to become more creative in your approach to training.

Most participants agreed that the workshop met their purposes. Up to 95.5 percent agreed they had acquired useful information and the training was worth their time. Not a bad 3 days of training informative jocked my braw and walked away with more than I came with - Overall the course was at times difficult but not at a level where completion will be unattainable. It has kept me awake and alert. I feel I have benefited greatly from attending this course.
